Car seat safety for kids!

*Sponsored Post*

I am a person who loves to travel and I knew that I would spend hours on roads with my family on long drive. Even before my child was born, I had a car seat finalized for my car. There are no strict rules in India for child car seats. But, as a parent it is our duty to keep them safe during travel. The available adult seat belts are not fit for providing enough defense for small babies and children.

When to Start?

The car seat should ideally be bought as soon as child-birth happens. The first journey to home from the hospital with the baby should happen on this car seat. There are some countries which make it mandatory to have a car seat before leaving hospital, even if it is not, one should install one it. The child seat must be used the child becomes at least 18+ kg. in weight.

HOW to USe Car SEat?
  • Child seat should always be fitted in the rear seat of the car.
  • Air bags in front of the baby seat must be disabled.
  • Most contemporary cars have an anchor point behind the rear seat to which the child seat can be attached.
  • Three point seat belts can also be used to fit a car seat.
Choosing a  car seat

When it comes to choosing a baby car seat, you have several options as mentioned below –

  1. Infant Car Seats – You can choose an infant car seat till the baby is one year to one and half-year old (nearly around 13 kg). These are rear facing car seats.
  2. Convertible Car Seats – These function as both front facing or rear facing and can be used till the baby is around 4 years or 20 kg.
  3. Booster Seats – Once your child outgrows his baby seat, you use a booster seat. It can be used till is about 7 years.

Having a car seat not only gives you a comfortable ride but also a lot more safety for the baby, as compared to carrying him in your hands. Please remember that  loosely/inappropriately fitted child seats are as dangerous. For more information on child car safety, you can visit Cars.com.

Hacking – A Blogger’s nightmare! #Superbloggerchallenge2018

Each one of us has their own version of nightmare. A person, thing or a situation which you fear the most. A blogger’s worst fears come alive when they are denied access to their blog. Getting a mailer that your website content is hacked or has malicious content is a terrible thing. And, I have faced this issue recently.

Last weekend, I woke up to mailers that some of my web pages have been hacked by a third-party. To be honest, this was a first timer for me and I cannot express my anger in simpler words. Why would anyone want to do that? It’s not that my blog holds million dollars code which you would want to hack. It’s a simple blog where I share my thoughts of here and there.

Coming back to the point, few web pages are hacked – the solution should be simple enough. I will find the spam pages & delete them. Alas, things don’t run so easily. My password stopped working and login was disabled. Thus, I was out of the loop completely. It took lots of effort & support from the hosting provider to get back the access.

The story does not end here. Even after getting the access, it is a mess. I had to search and delete malicious content. The theme is amiss, background images are missing and the widgets are corrupted. As soon as I edit one widget, the other stops working. Thankfully, the blog posts were not deleted!

Recovering & setting up the blog is a time-consuming task and requires baby steps. On the bright side, I was thinking of renovating the blog since long. Now, I have the chance & time to get it done. I also learnt some major security lessons from this. Every dark cloud has silver lining. 🙂

I will get carried away and fill pages on this and few questions will still haunt me. Why does a hacker hack? What pleasures do you get from it? You need to find yourself a new hobby.

Have you ever faced this issue? How did you cope with it and what steps did you take to make your blog more secure? Do share your thoughts with us!

Review of AktivHealth,Noida Center

AktivHealth is an advanced physiotherapy & rehabilitation center  that introduced to India the active part of rehabilitative procedures for orthopedic and neurological treatment. The Active treatment requires active patient participation whilst at the same time addresses individual patient needs and limitations. This active approach is combined with other effective passive forms of treatments provided by them – professional physiotherapy, massage, electrotherapy and other useful therapeutic modalities. They have opened up a new center in Noida this March.

With long hours of the day spent sitting in front of computer, I am prone to backache. Therefore, when I got the opportunity to visit the AktivHealth center for a therapy session, I jumped at it. At the center, I was greeted by Mr. Nandlal, the center head, who explained to me the whole process of active approach of the treatment and the facilities at the center. They have incorporated German technology for the therapies to help their patients.

Facilities at the AktivHealth, Noida center
  • Centrally located in Sector 62, Noida
  • Courteous and trained staff members
  • The entire center is organised and hygienic
  • A well equipped training room with modern amenities for functional movement conditioning, Medical Training Therapy (MTT), etc.
  • Nine treatment rooms for one-to-one therapy sessions
  • Regular consultations with on-staff orthopedic expertise and sports injury specialists
  • Dedicated staff for Paediatric Physical Therapy
  • Dedicated lab for Oncology(cancer) Rehabilitation

I took an hour-long  therapy session for my backache & it was very beneficial. They helped in identifying the root cause & provided me tips to maintain correct posture to support the spinal cord. Complete transparency and communication of the actual diagnosis and cure was maintained. I could feel improvement in pain from the first session itself. Overall, my personal experience was great & I would suggest you to visit the center for your treatment. For more details about AktivHealth, you can visit there website here.

Things all pregnant women hear! #SUPERBLOGGERCHALLENGE2018

You should add butter to your food. You should gain more weight. Aren’t you too fat already?  – Do these questions remind you something or someone? Well, these are just some of the questions that either you or other pregnant women around you are asked everyday.

Pregnancy is a beautiful phase & everyone around you has some piece of advice for you.  And, the wisdom of others is no doubt helpful. But, where should you draw the line? Some people have no idea of when to stop. It can be your nosy next door neighbor or a random stranger in market. Nothing stops them for giving unsolicited advice!

There were many genuine suggestions that I got during my pregnancy and  I am thankful for it. But, today I am going to list the questions/suggestions that irked me a lot!

  • Do not eat that!

According to my next-door-aunty, all my favorite food are harmful for my baby.  Want Chinese food, you cannot have it. Crave for some Pasta, that’s no good either. Only home-made food with dripping butter is good to have. It’s time to eat more sweets, else you might not have a healthy child. To that Aunty ji, thanks but no thanks!

  • Are you sure you are ready to take care of a child? You would lose all your sleep.

A pregnant women has too much to think of,  please do not add more to her worries. Planned or unplanned, she is giving birth to a child, so obviously she has thought about it and is ready.  Give her some love and support, encourage her!

  • You are the mother, don’t depend too much on husband

I have lost count of how many people had told me this. I understand that in earlier times the roles of men & women in a household had rigid boundaries. Now, as we move towards nuclear family why am I the only one responsible for our child? My husband is equally responsible and he understands his duties towards our baby.

  • You have become fat.

Thanks for the reminder, I was unaware of it. A new life is taking form inside me, so yes I know I have gained weight.  If someone is too thin or too fat, let them be. Stop body shaming pregnant women!

  • Any day now ?

Once you are in your last trimester, random people will come up to you with this question. You can be in office or out shopping. By the time my child was born, I was fed up people repeating the same question every time they met me. If only I could wash those smirked looks on their faces!

It might seem like I have a grudge against people giving me suggestions. But that’s not true! I had support of wonderful family & friends who were there for me. Ready to hear out my random blabber & calm me down. Still, dealing with the bunch of nosy aunties is a momentous task. Don’t be that nosy aunty. If someone around you is pregnant then help them, encourage them, keep them happy!
