Love comes in all forms! #AtoZChallenge

Last chapter

‘Ananth, don’t be a kid and stop fooling around. You are not going with me.’,chided Natasha.

‘Nats, I am already missing out so much. You can’t say no every time. I have not heard the heartbeat since so long’, replied Ananth with puppy eyes.

‘It’s just a normal routine checkup and Maa is going with me. I will record the heartbeat for you.You still need to rest at least on weekends.’, said Natasha.

This was a normal routine in Natasha’s household since last two months. Ananth’s movement was still restricted because of his surgery and he always complained about not being able to accompany Natasha for her doctor’s visit. He was trying all he could to help her with the pregnancy. She is almost half way through her pregnancy and there are numerous incidents that she could recall.

Just last week she was craving for her favorite ice cream late night and crying because she could not go out to eat it.Blame her hormones, but she was angry at Ananth for not being able to drive and take her out. Ananth very calmly ordered a home delivery for her ice cream.

Another day she was being very forgetful and was trying to open the car with her home keys. After trying for minutes she turned around to find Ananth coming with the original keys. Once when she wanted to bake a cake at home with zero ingredients available and he made a cake out of Dhokla mixture. It might not have tasted like a chocolate cake but it’s the best she ever had.

She cannot even forget the time when she had forgotten to turn off the gas stove while leaving for work in the morning. When she had returned in the evening, the house smelled of gas. She had never seen him so furious. He might not speak but she understood his concern even when he was angry.

All these incidents might look small to others, but every effort counts. It made her fall in love all over again with Ananth. It’s rightly said that love comes in all forms, silence and words alike.

Dream comes true! #AtoZChallenge

‘A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.’ -Yoko Ono

Natasha has always believed in this quote, for together you can achieve the world. Last few days had been spent in a jiffy. Both Ananth and Natasha spoke about their feelings. How and when did they start craving for a child. Discussions revolved around who will change baby’s soiled diapers or who will feed the baby at night. From being unsure to eagerly waiting for having a child – they had both matured quickly!

13 February, Early morning

‘Ananth wake up! Ananth get up!’

There was no need for a second reminder and Ananth was up before Natasha could speak another word. He did not need any verbal confirmation from his wife, cause her face was a mirror to her heart’s true emotion. He could see the twinkle in her eyes and her lips curved into a shy smile. His heart knew no bounds as he rose up from the bed and hugged his wife. He was about to pick her up and break into an impromptu dance session then & there. But, he abruptly stopped.

‘What happened Ananth? You stopped suddenly. You are going to be a father. I am pregnant!’, Natasha spoke in a soft voice trying to hold back her tears of joy.

‘Not you, We are pregnant! And from now on no more dances and jumping around. You need to rest & stay safe. No more running Natasha and no more heavy lifting allowed’, Ananth continued speaking in the same breath without a pause.

‘You will always be cheesy Mr. Ananth. The pregnancy test is positive but we still need to visit a doctor and get the blood tests done.’, Natasha replied as her tears turned to a chuckle.

‘I am already on it Madam Nats!’ and Ananth walks out of the room dialing the doctor’s clinic for appointment. Both of them took the day off from their offices & visited the doctor’s clinic, who advised them blood tests to check for pregnancy confirmation and other vital minerals/ vitamins.

‘You can collect the blood test report tomorrow.’ , spoke the doctor and gave them a general list of do’s & dont’s.

14 February, Valentine’s Day

Natasha did not have any important engagements in the office, so she was working from home. Ananth will be collecting the blood test reports in the noon and head to home soon after that. They had decided not to tell anyone else about the pregnancy for few days & wanted to cherish this moment together for some time.

It was difficult for Natasha to stop herself from telling her mother about it. But she waited. As soon as she heard the car stop outside the house, she rushed to open the door. She stopped only after Ananth gave her an annoying look and instructed her in a stern voice, ‘ Nats, you are now taking care of two. Running & hopping is a strict no-no’. They planned to celebrate the special day with a romantic dinner at their favorite restaurant.

The day of love became dearer for them as the blood tests had confirmed her pregnancy and their dream came true!

Story of Terminal 1! #WriteBravely

Source :

“All international departures are from Terminal 1”, reminded my roommate for the hundredth time.

“I know, I will reach on time. Don’t worry”, I replied.

“Suhani, you need to stop being a mother hen for all your friends. Go out, shop & party! Make a profile on Tinder at least now”. These were my parting words to my roommate & best friend. Even as I joked she could sense my unsaid emotions. Afterall, she had stayed with me through thick & thin.

The journey to airport was uneventful. After completing all boarding formalities, I sat at the coffee shop with a book in my hand. There were so many thoughts racing through my mind. I am returning home after six years and forever this time.

Looks like yesterday when I had first landed on this terminal. You had bumped into me at the immigration counter, throwing my belongings all across the airport floor. You had just smiled. Again, at the taxi bay you had hopped into the cab that I was supposed to take. “Sorry, an emergency need to take the cab asap.”, your first words to me. I should have known you were trouble!

First day at college & I caught your glimpse around the campus. My suspicion was confirmed when you became my student counsellor. Funny, how our fates were entwined. After the awkward first few days, we were quite comfortable with each other. Asking for your help around college to finding hotels when I was missing Indian food! You were my go-to person for all queries.

We had chatted all through my semester break spent at home. I remember the surprise proposal you had planned outside these terminal gates when I had returned from my vacation. “I love you munchkin”, you were always a man of few words. Of Course, I had fallen for you too.

I remember all the flights we have taken together from this terminal. All the vacations or the trips back home have been with you. Remember the time when we had a huge fight and I had flown to my aunt’s home for the holiday season.

Before long, our parents were asking about our marriage plans. I was so nervous for the journey home to talk to my parents about us & you had been my rock. It was here when you had met my family for the first time. My dad was watching your every move & you had bravely faced him. This terminal has witnessed my laughter & my tears both.

Finally, months of negotiations with our families & they had accepted our relationship. We had travelled like cupid-struck-teenagers for our engagement. People at airport were staring at us, but we simply did not care.

I hated it when you got a job back home and had to leave this country before me. We were going to leave together. I don’t like travelling alone! My thoughts were broken by the flight announcement.

“This is the final call for all passengers travelling on flight A14”. Today, I am taking the final flight from this terminal to be home to get married to the love of my life. I am looking forward to our new journey together, our new jobs and plans to settle in our own country.

As I look back one last time, I know this terminal will always have a special place in my heart. 🙂

Love notes from a lost diary… #AtoZChallenge

Dear Diary,

I think I have found love. Cupid has struck me for the first time & I am ecstatic. My heart flutters at your mere sight. I am at loss of words whenever I am around you.  Remember the first day I saw you in class and had stumbled. Your charm had impressed me then and there.

I am hypnotized whenever you pass by me smiling! The way you take my side & care for me…Depth of your eyes & the intoxicating voice…There are butterflies in my stomach and I am too shy to acknowledge it. I am waiting for Valentine’s Day when I would propose you or even you can do that 😉

Yesterday in the music room when we were singing duet my heart was racing. How could you not hear my heartbeats? Maybe you are just trying to be subtle about it. Today everyone in the class was teasing us. Is it just me? Don’t you feel the same? I hope you do.

We already have great chemistry and things would only get rolling. I am hoping after the school ends in two years we would go to the same college. And can stay together there too 🙂

Good Night Diary! Time for dreams…

I am sure you would have also felt same on your first crush. When as a kid you get this happy feeling and the world resolves around just one person.  How did you meet your first crush? Was it a friend or an actor? Do share your stories would love to hear them!

Bride-to-be ! #AtoZChallenge

It’s time to party! Let’s break into dance & continue all night. After all you have found love of your life. It’s your engagement and no one can be happier than me. Just few days more to go! You don’t have an idea of how much I am missing being with you right now. Just to tease you. When I got engaged you had pestered me so much. Oh dear, just wait till I meet you next. Then it will be revenge time 🙂

Time is flying away & you are overwhelmed with emotions. Brother irritating you more than usual & parents pampering you. I know you want to capture every moment. The new relations might sound confusing now, but they will add joy to your life. Cherish these moments coz they last for a lifetime.

Bride to be

Let’s talk about your Mr. Perfect – welcome to the family. He is charming and understands you. You are the storm brewing & he is the calm sea. He will add direction to your chaos. You both are alike yet so different.Alas, he is unaware of what he has gotten into. My wish for him is that he gets all strength to endure you! Mr. Perfect, take good care of my friend.

I have said enough already, now get married soon. Have a joyful life ahead! Love you both 🙂
