The bucket list! #WriteBravely

‘So,this is it?’, asked Ananth.

‘Yes, the best for the last!’, replied Natasha.

‘Now what?’, Ananth asked again.

‘I don’t know, maybe wait for the end.’,Natasha spoke softly.

‘You don’t need to! Things can still work out. We will go through the new treatment.’

‘Ananth, I do not want to fight it anymore. I am tired and have finally accepted my fate. When will you accept it?’, Natasha replied.

‘What if I never want to? I love you. What about our dream of going old together?’

‘Ananth, we have lived more in a short time than the people do in their lifetime. All the items on my bucket list our complete’, chuckled Natasha.

‘I know, I know…Northern lights, paragliding, mountain climbing, learning to drive a car – all of this is done and dusted’, Ananth tried cheering up.

‘And, today was the best, getting married to you on the beach with all our friends and family. I am home at last! ‘, said Natasha.

I am participating in the Write Tribe Festival of Words – June 2018. I have used a picture prompt and creative writing prompt –  Write a story about a character who finds out that he or she is dying and has been knocking things off his/her bucket list and has finally reached the last item.

I hope someday when the end is near I can be as content as this. I love her quiet acceptance.
